--Defensive tackle Darwin Walker has some "soft muscle tissue soreness" resulting from a car accident Saturday morning, according to Fox.
Walker did not play against Arizona.
A team spokesman originally sent out an email Saturday night saying Walker was involved in a "fender bender," but Fox clarified Monday by saying, "it was a pretty serious accident" and that Walker's car might be totaled.
"There's no structural damage and luckily it wasn't more serious," Fox said. "But he was too stiff and sore Saturday night and then again Sunday morning when he woke up. He didn't sleep real good (Saturday night)."
--Although the Panthers won Sunday, playing the NFL's highest-scoring offense didn't do much for their league rankings on defense.
The Panthers dropped in a number of categories including total defense (from fifth to ninth) and pass defense (fourth to ninth) after giving up 381 yards passing to Kurt Warner.
They remained the same in run defense (14th).
--Coach John Fox said he called a timeout before Neil Rackers' field goal at the end of the first half to stop the clock, not necessarily to ice him.
At that point in the game, the scoreboards had malfunctioned and the clock was being kept on the field so there was some confusion over the time remaining in the first half. Fox wanted to give his offense enough time to drive down the field and at least kick a field goal before the end of the half.
"It was kind of goofy how it happened because I wanted to get 15 seconds back," Fox said. "They finally figured they would wind the clock when (the official) OK'd it and that is when we called timeout."
When asked how tough it was without a clock, Fox said, "It keeps it interesting."
BY THE NUMBERS: 3-3 - Carolina's record under John Fox coming out of a bye week.
